Fitness for Everyone:
Skills Building and Adaptive Fitness
At Fitness for Health, we are committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment where individuals of all ages and abilities can thrive on their fitness journey. Our team of integrated movement specialists combines expertise in physical fitness, rehabilitation, and developmental movement with a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by individuals with developmental delays, low self-confidence, and low self-esteem.
We design personalized programs for children and adults with a wide range of needs—from developmental motor delays to difficulties with mobility, balance, coordination, and strength-building. Every program is tailored to help clients build confidence, improve function, and achieve meaningful progress in everyday life.
Individualized and Incredibly Fun
Our integrated movement specialists work closely with each individual and family to create a customized plan of care using evidence-based sensory integration techniques and innovative exergaming equipment, including a 3D virtual reality gaming system, 30-foot trampoline, and a laser maze. These engaging tools help children and adults build critical physical, cognitive, and social skills in a supportive and compassionate environment.
At Fitness for Health, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to lead an active, healthy lifestyle. Through consistent support, progressive training, and a holistic approach to wellness, we help clients develop lasting confidence, independence, and self-worth. Our goal is not only to improve fitness, but also to empower individuals to live vibrant, healthy lives.
Building a Different Skill Set
Our programs focus on essential developmental and functional skills that many traditional fitness programs overlook.
• Gross and Fine Motor Skills, including proprioception—the body’s ability to sense position, movement, and spatial orientation without relying on vision. Examples include running up and down stairs without looking, catching a ball, or touching your nose with your eyes closed.
• Mental Processing and Motor Planning. We help individuals improve their ability to process information quickly, plan and sequence movements, and react efficiently and appropriately in real time.
• Visual-Motor Skills focuses on peripheral vision, visual processing efficiency, and strengthening the connection between visual input and physical response.
We can help your child learn or improve skills such as:
• Riding a bike
• Shooting a basketball
• Throwing a football
• Catching a baseball
• Kicking a soccer ball
• Running with better coordination and confidence
Our skills building program helps your child to …
• Have more fun on the playground
• Navigate structured and unstructured play
• Transition more confidently into organized sports
• Improve coordination and athletic readiness
• Build self-confidence and self-esteem
Confidence Through Measurable Success
Many of our training tools provide real-time feedback and track performance improvements over time. This allows children to see their progress firsthand and build confidence through achievement—because success builds success.
