Zoning In Summer Program
Fitness for Health offers a therapeutic summer program for students ages 4-10 years old with ADHD, Social Communication Disorder, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. The Zoning In Summer Program integrates concepts of the zones of regulation and social thinking with motor activities, encouraging campers to explore and improve their social skills and motor development.
The heart of our camp is centered around the Zones of Regulation program, a framework that empowers children to understand and manage their emotions and sensory needs effectively. Under the guidance of our skilled Occupational Therapists, campers will engage in interactive sessions aimed at developing their self-regulation skills, providing them with valuable tools for navigating the world around them.

The Zones of Regulation is a framework designed to help individuals, particularly children, develop self-regulation skills by categorizing emotions and corresponding behaviors into four distinct zones: the Blue Zone (low energy, sad, tired), Green Zone (calm, focused, happy), Yellow Zone (excited, anxious, frustrated), and Red Zone (overwhelmed, angry, elated). For children with ADHD, Social Communication Disorder, and Autism Spectrum Disorder, understanding and utilizing the Zones of Regulation can be immensely beneficial. These individuals often struggle with emotional regulation and identifying appropriate responses to their feelings. By learning to recognize which zone they are in, they gain the ability to express their emotions effectively, leading to improved social interactions, better self-control, and enhanced emotional understanding. Additionally, by gaining insight into their emotional states, children can learn coping strategies to regulate their emotions and maintain appropriate behavior, ultimately fostering greater independence and success in both academic and social settings.
This is a half day program that runs from 9am - noon, with limited aftercare spaces
